Specification

Two door deluxe saloon, series V with a 1098 O.H.V. engine with unleaded cylinder head conversion (recently fitted). Toby is Peat Brown in colour (paint code GR30) and has a Cherokee red vinyl interior which is both original and in near perfect condition. The steering wheel "muff" has been on the car for many years, as have the original red rubber mats. Toby was built on September 29th 1969 and first registered on 10th June 1970 at Kennings of Kingston upon Hull in Yorkshire. He is still on his original 1098 engine, fitted with an unleaded head and a stainless steel exhaust.

Bodywork

All paint above the waistline is original. Three new wings were fitted very recently, but the floor pan and chassis members have never been welded. The underside gets regular steam cleaning and re-waxoyling. The chromework is original except for new wing mirrors, a pass mirror and rear bumper. The wheels have just been restored to the correct shade of of Dark Silver.

Ownership

The first owner was Mr A Dent of the Crown & Anchor in Hull Yorkshire. The second owner Mr L Guy bought the car in 1977, when he sold it some work was done on the car by a Morris Minor specialist before the car was bought by its third owner, Mr P Barker of Yorkshire who owned the car for 10 years 6 months and covered 5782 miles in that time. The previously known owner Ian, bought the car from Mr Barker in Walmer, Kent on 30th Jan 1999 with 58,585 miles on the clock. Toby had never been to a car show until easter 1999, but was Ian's show car untill he sold it in 2001. Again, as for the Dove Grey saloon that Ian also owned, we'd love to hear from the current owners of Toby and update his on-line history!
